Does anyone know if it is possible to turn off 911 once activated? The service rep I spoke with told me no, but I want a second opinion... |

This may be an odd question, but why would you? |

If you travel like I do, why would you want 911 on while on the road. If I could turn it on and off, I would activate it, and turn it on the weeks I am at home. |

Why would you want to have one more thing to do such as turning on/off 911. Sounds pointless. I see that you could be worried about needing to call and knowing it is set for your address but if you needed to call and explained your situation and location I am sure they can redirect your call to the correct center. |

Pointless??? If some yahoo grabs the Vonage phone while I am at some site or other, and doesn't KNOW it is a Vonage line. They call 911, and get Ohio, not where the phone is.
How difficult can it be to turn it on or off? A *XXX code? Or maybe log onto the website? Yeah that could take hours to accomplish. <sarcasm> |

True, good point...Some of my consultants use Vonage while travelling so I can see his point. |
