I have received a few voice mails that everyone swears that the phone never rang and no one was on the phone at the time. I took that info as they just missed the call waiting signal and therefore went to voice...This weekend I noticed that on 2 separate occassions that the phone rang once and stopped as if it was answered (it wasn't) and the call went to voice mail. Only happened a few times, but before it causes a problem I thought I would get your expertise as to the causes and what I should be checking.
Voice mail is set to answer after 30 seconds...Call Forwarding is disabled....Network availablity number is also disabled. |

I would first login at vonage.com and make sure that its not set do go to your voicemail after 5 seconds. Make it 15-20. If it is set correctly, you may need to be sure that your router is properly configured to allow the phone adapter to work the way it needs to. Do you know how to Forward Ports etc? |

My set-up is Cable modem RT31P2 PC's in ports 1, 2, & 3 and phone in line #1. I double checked my settings and they are just as I stated (30sec to voice mail; Forwarding is disabled; Network avail number also disabled) and as I said this is an intermittent problem.
I use Norton Internet Security as my firewall, but if it was a firewall issue I would think the problem would occur all the time.
I am using the RT31P2 that I received from Vonage so there is no need to forward any ports. Again this is only intermittent but I am trying to track it down. Usually when something starts out as intermittent, in the near future it tends to become chronic. I am trying to stop it before it gets to that point. |
