I'm a relatively new customer in SW FL (941) and so far am impressed with the service ... except for the fact that I have no CID w/ Name.
I had been holding off on switching to Vonage because I didn't like the fact that their Caller ID service was number-only. I get many calls at home from clients and co-workers, and I need to able to distinguish between those calls and personal ones! I get so many phone calls that it would be impossible for me to remember every number, thus making Caller ID "number-only" nearly useless.
I was very excited when I saw on their web site that they now offered "name" service with Caller ID. I promptly signed up, and a month later, after several emails and phone calls to Vonage, I am still without the "names" on Caller ID.
As far as I'm concerned, that is false advertising. I think that when they listed that feature they could have noted with an asterisk and some small print somewhere that it is not available in all areas and provided a page that showed which areas did or did not have caller ID with name.
I haven't seen any posts within the last 2 weeks on CID w/ Name and I'm curious to know if everyone else's is working properly? Anybody in 941 (or elsewhere) having a similar experience?

My name (caller-id) was about two (2) weeks behind others.
Have faith,
It will appear.
Just a thought. |

Still waiting in 615. Last time I asked about it, they said major cities with most users first. I mentioned that it's still on the web that it's available and not to be cranky, but I think that existing customers should be getting it pretty quickly unless they plan to take that down.
That was about two weeks ago. I sure hope we have it here soon too. |

They're toying with me. Today I got home and my phone rang and there was a NAME!!! I was so excited, I called my husband and said, "CALL ME. I got a NAME!!!" He called from his cell and showed up properly. (We are so easily amused these days.)
Then he tried from work and it switched to "Incoming Call" and not even a number. Hmmm. That's never happened before on the Motorola. Well, I just tried from my cell. Same thing. "Incoming call" and no number. The Panasonic doesn't say "out of area" anymore. No number. Blank screen.
Guess I'll have to call and see what's going on.

Well when I sent them an email they said they are working their way down the coasts. I noticed that depending on what city the call came from I would get a name. Today a friend called me and her name came across from my local city. Which is Tampa, FL. So I guess they ARE working on it. |

Kanyon:
It looks like yesterday was "installation day" in Nashville. As of last night, I was getting ID on every call (but we didn't have many calls). Even got Sprint PCS Call from a cell phone.
I'm tickled pink to have that feature back! |
