Strange....

I don't have any clients in the DHCP table, but the Wireless table is correct.

Looks like this is yet another strange firmware issue with this router Sad

Guess I shouldn't be surprised. This seems par for the course with Linksys routers. When I got my previous router, a BEFW11S4, it took about 5 or 6 firmware upgrades before it was really stable. But once it was stable, it was REALLY stable. It ran for half a year or longer at a time without a reboot.

We can only hope that the WRTP54G follows the same pattern and eventually stabilizes. I really like the concept of the product and it works OK for me, but just OK, not GREAT.

Besides, I sent in my BEFW11S4 for the rebate, so it's not as if I can just re-install it.

No clients in my DHCP table either. Although it seems to be working fine. Can ping all of them. Anyone know how to report these types of bugs? Neither Linksys nor Vonage seem to be owning up to this unit.

makarcr: the second post in this very thread that you just replied to shows how to get it and the file size.

I was able to get this 3.7mb file and tried to apply it. It make it 30% and the page cannot be found comes up. I used the "user" and "tivonpm" password to login but no luck. I also tried to install 1.00.29 first and it did not work either

The upgrade is a bit sketchy. Its seems that you should use IE to do it, turn the wireless part off and connect through one of the LAN ports. The upgrade bar won't go all the way to the end and it will give you that page not found thing. The router will then reboot and it will have the new firmware.

Log back into the router and check that the fimware hasn't changed before you try it again.

Make sure the computer you're updating from uses a static IP, rather than DHCP. I think I read somewhere that that was helpful.

I ran into the problem BEFORE reading this forum about this device... I talked with a tech support person who helped me in taking the device from "1.00.20" to "1.00.29" manually, and then minutes later, it upgraded to "1.00.37". The system was completely unuseable until it was updated. I could not get a dialtone, make or take any phone calls. Few problems after update. This system is for my parents. I personally have a PAP2 behind my Smoothwall router. The only time I EVER had a problem with my system is when I decided I'd set up QoS. That effed things up pretty badly. I've never had any quality issues with QoS turned off (despite large uploads/downloads and on the phone at the same time).
