Hi all,
I just got service with Vonage and am having a bit of a problem. I am in the process of getting my number transferred, and in the meantime I have been given a virtual phone number. I can make outgoing calls just fine. However, when anyone tries to call me on the virtual number, they get a message saying "you may leave a message for the person you are calling by entering a mailbox number. To enter your mailbox press pound." So far I have not had any help with the CSRs on this. Has anyone had this problem and know how to fix it? Thanks. |

ar eyou sure you have teh correct number?? that sounds like the recording you get when you dial your voicemail local number (NOT *123).. mayb eyou read the e-mail tehy sent you wrong and have given oiut eh mailbox number instead of your actual virtual phone number.. or maybe the virtual number was not set up properly..
check the initial e-mail sent by Vonage that included your numbers, or log into your dashboard and see if you can find it there.. |

Thanks for the reply. I do have the correct number, but for some reason it is messed up. I talked with one of the CSRs, and they could not figure it out, so they gave me another virtual phone number to use. It is working fine so far.... |

did they charge you for giving you the new Virtual number? i had issues with the virtual number they gave me. im doing the LNP and my virtual number (VN) was not in service(you would call the number and they lady would say ( we sorry, the number you are dialing is not in service... this was verified by the tech i was speaking to). i called Vonage cs and they did not even see the VN on my account. i had one because i saw it on my account. well, then ended up giving me another one but then i got a bill for 15 bucks for that. i sent CS an email stating i should not be charged for that, which i don't think i should since they give you a VN to use while being ported.
so just wanted to give you some background and ask how they handled yours... |

I have this same problem. It use to work fine (since April), but now my account does not seem to have any voicemail boxes associated with it. Callers get asked to enter a mailbox number and mine does not work. The web site says voicemail is enabled, but clicking the voicemail tab displays "No voicemail boxes found for your account". Attempting to set a PIN returns an error.
I suspect that a status change in my phone number transfer triggered this. The timing was close enough.
Took me 2 hours with two barely understandable support person to convince them there was a real problem and it was not me being incompetent.
I just want this working again. I don't care if they change my virtual number or if I lost all my old voicemails. |
