I'm considering switching to it, but wanted some feedback from current users before I make the jump. |

I recommend it, all depends on how well your ISP maintains your connection.
Also great if you have expanded long distance use. |

TVDirector: You should try a search through the archives as there have been some pretty good discussions started with the very same question you have asked.
Having said that...
I would say that the primary question you need to answer is how reliable do you need your phone service to be? Combining the reliability (or lack thereof) of an internet provider with with the unknowns that come with differing hardware setups leads to the possibility that your Vonage service may not be as reliable as POTS service from the phone co.
I decided that I was OK with having a phone service that may not be 100% reliable because it was going to save me a bunch of $'s. I feel I made a good decision because my Vonage service has been very good. I did need to fix a few minor glitches (cable connections, etc.) before I achieved a good, solid service, but it wasn't too difficult.
I have watched this forum long enough to know that some people are just not able to achieve good service with Vonage and they haven't been able to figure out why. Others that have problems recognize that they are pushing the limits of the technology (multiple computers and phones on one internet connection, etc.) and are just trying to figure out if there is a way to make it all work in harmony. Still others have a few minor problems they would like cured if possible.
My overall impression is that the majority of Vonage customers are satisfied. I believe that if they weren't, Vonage would have folded by now... (Just my opinion ) |

I've been a customer of Vonage since 12/24 and can honestly say I'm quite happy with the service. I telecommute and therefore spend alot of time on the phone. To date, I've logged over 1500 minutes and in that time have had very few problems. |

My service has been excellent. Have had zero outages. My only issue to date has been a chronic inability to call Macau. (Macau is a special administrative region of China, obviously not a common place to call.) When calls to Macau go through, the voice quality is not so great.
Calls to everywhere else always go through the first time, no voice quality issues, no dropped calls, no in ability to access the service. I have had excellent service, and commend the Vonage folk for their excellent offering.
