Is anybody else having this trouble -- since June 27th all of my inbound calls indicate 'Out of Area' instead of the calling party's name. The numbers still show up, just no name.
The name is also missing in the Dashboard/Activity listings on the vonage.ca website, so I'm guessing this indicates it is not an issue with my PAP2.
Incidentally, I'm in Calgary. I've also emailed Vonage (my first foray into the abiss that is Vonage 'support')
Thanks.. |

I'm having a similar problem with incoming US calls but Canadian calls seem to be fine.
I'd love to see what the solution was |

Hmmm... it seems that this is a common problem. Should I get a phone with caller ID, or just not bother because the service won't work? If it mostly just says 'outside caller', then what's the point?
Oh yeah, my question is; Will the calls become recognized after the first call? I mean, will Vonage 'learn' to recognize calls? If ppl are listed in the phone book, does that matter?

Mateo, did your get fixed with a little help?
I have been back and forth a million hours lately with Vonage level II tech support, to no avail. I am not sure where the claim is at now but if any did get their resolved, can you share some details so I can point this poor, overworked tech support in the right direction???
Thanks VoipNWinnipeg |

I'm having the same problem - if anyone else could shed some light on it or offer any help I'd really appreciate it. |

I was just told by Tech support this evening that the caller name information will only appear for calls coming from another Vonage customer. Calls coming from a phone outside the Vonage network will show anonymous, private or the phone number only...

Don't know who told you that, but they are WRONG. Your OUTGOING calls will not show on others' caller ID but I am receiving caller ID info. Call back and ask for Level 3 support...whoever you spoke to doesn't know what they are talking about.

Any new developments regarding this problem? I finally got my phone number switched to Vonage last friday and I'm no longer receiving names with my CallerID as well. This is very irritating and I'm not getting anywhere with Vonage support. You'd think they'd know something is wrong after so many people experiencing this for such a long period of time... |
