I have installed a linksys rt41p2 behind my wireless router but cannot see the admin page on the rt41p2 with my pc connected to the wireless router. It works ok otherwise. Is there a recommended setup? DHCP on the rt41p2? Assigned ip address? |

If that were allowed by default, then everyone's Vonage config would be wide open to anyone probing it from the Internet, because that's where the WAN port typically connects.
In your case, you can plug a PC into one of the LAN ports of the RT*1P2 temporarily, and then use that to enable Remote Administration on the WAN port. Then you should be able to get to it from the rest of your network, by typing in its WAN IP (although the WAN IP is really just another LAN IP in your case) |

janevivian,
there are two ways to deal with this. Personally, I have placed the rt31p2 in front of my wireless since it has QOS. Then I turned my wireless router into a switch and access point by connecting it's ethernet port 1 to the ethernet port 1 of the rt31p2 and disabling its DHCP (I used a straight thru patch cable since my DI524 autosenses it rather than a cross-over). Also I changed the ip address of my DI524 to the same subnet but outside the range of dynamic ip addresses from the rt31p2 (i.e. 192.168.15.150).
Another option I've seen a lot in the forum is to turn on remote administration and specifying port 8080 and then you should be able to access your rt31p2 from the computer connected to your wireless router. http://192.168.15.1:8080 would be the address you type in IE. In essence, this would have two separate networks in your home.
hope this helps, mundy5 |

Thanks all. I have decided to turn on remote administration to access via my pc on the wireless router. Also have "fixed" the ip address of the RT41P2. |

Just wondering, where did you get an RT41P2? I thought Vonage only used the RT31P2. |

Actually this Linksys rt41p2 was supplied free by Vonage when I signed on via the Vonage web site. I noticed that Linksys now has a wireless version that is free to new accounts after rebates. Wish I had seen that promotion before ordering. But it works fine with my Airlink wireless router. |

You are absolutely correct on that . . . . it is a rt31p2. Don't know where I got "41". Thanks for correcting me. |
