Im using Vonage in India with a WRT54GP2 wireless router with DataOne. I did not have any problems, u just have to folow the installation CD. Leave it for about 30mins (to be safe) after you 1st set it up to be sure anykind of firmware upgrade is successfully pushed and the router may reboot.

I had a problem with the router saying"Router is restarting" forever.... so im getting it replaced.
I dont think you should have any problems as long as the router works fine.

Let me know if ou have any problems connecting it, ill try and help out.

Hello,
I see several articles posted with regards to this. But am unable to see any specific steps as to how people got it to work.

I have an DSl connection with BSNL. The voice adapter I have is a Motorola VT1005v.
I have been using this in the US, so I don't suspect a problem with the voice adapter.

When I connect the dsl -> voice adapter -> computer following the timing information as specfied, the voice adapter is stuck in a double blink state..ie. it is unable to get the IP.
Am unsure how to proceed. Is anybody aware of a customer care number in India? or have trouble shooted thru this state.

Any help would be appreciated.

Kris

I've been using Vonage with Linkysys RTP 300 router & BSNL connection for the past one month. I dint have any problems wid the installation or anything ..Its jus workin fine..Jus keep one thing in mind..BSNL provides dynamic ip's n not static..so try setting up ur router wid DHCP enabled..

Hi,

I am trying to configure the Vonage Phone adapter - linksys RT31P2 with BSNL DataOne (ADSL) service, but not able to get through. Here is what I have tried till now -

1. Set up Internet connection type as DHCP enabled in the linksys adapter. Reboot both ASDL and the linksys phone adapter. Waited for around 5 to t0 mins. No luck. In the router status page, it shows IP and DNS servers as 0.0.0.0.

2. Set up internet connection type as PPoPE. Entered User id and password provided on the ADSL model box from BSNL (not sure if this is the ADSL account id or the modem admin id). Reboot the modem and the phone adapter. Waited for 5 to 10 mins. No Luck. THe status page on the phone adapters says "Disconnected" and a message "Cannont connect to te PP0E server".

Has any one been able to configure this setup ? Please help. I will try to reach out BSNL today to understand the connection type that they have provided.

ANy help will be highly appreciated.

thanks,

pawan.

Hi,

try with both
<userid>@dataone.in

or

<userid>@dataone

after saving settings, its also advisable to do a power cycle of the network.

Hey Kris and Muthu any luck in configuring ur phone adapter. I've the same problem with motorola 1005V and BSNL. The LED on the phone adaptor continuously blinks when i connect it to the DSL modem and i'm not able to access the Phone adaptor configuration page from the computer.

I appreciate if anyone can provide some detailed instruction of the setup.

thanks,
seshu

Problem: No dial tone, even the green light (for phone) is not on. I am able to browse the web through the router though. I have not set up the PPPoE settings. Do you think this will make a difference?

Details
ISP : BSNL (DataOne I guess)
Upload/Download speed: 286 kbps
Router: RT31P2

BOTTOM LINE:
BSNL Router --> Vonage router()---> PC (internet OK) Smile -->Phone (No dial tone) Sad
