I just ordered Vonage and have four phones scattered throughout my home. What in your experience is the best way to connect all to Vonage? What is your experience with wireless phone jacks? Thanks. |

The easiest way is to disconnect your POTS connection and then plug your Vonage System into any available phone jack. It works fine. I've used the wireless phone jacks and they also worked fine. The only problem I had was with a TIVO connection. It refused to dial out. I don't know why. |

I use my home wiring to connect to all of the other phones and it works very well. It's a big house, and we have 5 phones on 3 floors hooked up and working.
You must be sure to disconnect your home from the outside network first, or you'll (a) have a phone that never hangs up or (b) blow up your adapter.
I posted photos of how I did it at http://www.wilkinsons.com/Bananna/2005/02/using-vonage-for-every-phone-in-your.html
I hope this helps. |

Or buy those wireless phones with expansion handsets. |

Sure, buying new phones is an option, but aren't we using Vonage to save money? If the new phone system costs $250 and I'm saving $50 a month, it's going to take 5 months just to break even.
Plus, I'm not ready to give up my Mickey Mouse phone just yet. |

You could pay $250 or more, but you can get expandable units with multiple handsets for a lot less. Martlet posted yesterday that he purchased a Uniden expandable cordless set for $40. I have a VTech with five handsets that cost me about $170 on sale.
If you want your Mickey Mouse phone, you could put a splitter on phone port #1 and hand your MM off of that and then run an expandable cordless system off the other side of the splitter.
Running the Vonage system through your house wiring is not much trouble if you prefer that. There are several threads here that explain how to do it if that is your preference.
There are many solutions that don't cost $250.
