Hello all,
I am having a problem loggin in to the vonage box now. A friend was helping me and changed the ip address internally and ever since then, i have been unable to login to correct anything.
Is there a way to reset the vt1000v or how can I get to login to it because the ip addresses http://192.168.102.1 only gives me an eroor and i have tried to ping the ip based on the one he changed and i still get noe response.
If i were to reset it back to the factory defaults, wouldnt that cure my prob?
the only thing is that i cant see anywhere on motorola's site or here how to do such a thing.
thanks,

Unfortunately, there is no factory reset on the VT1005. However, a few people have had similar problems and posted their solutions here. There are at least 2 or 3 threads on the subject. Try doing a search as I don't recall the exact methodology. |

the original box sent to me was looking for some code (tftp boot). Vonage ended up sending me a new functioning box. |

I had the same problem, here's the procedure from Vonage support that corrected my problem:
On your PC, set the IP address to a static address of : 192.168.102.X (where X is a number between 2 and 99) Set the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 Set the gateway to: 192.168.102.1
Reboot your PC. Once it re-starts up, using a Internet browser, access: http://192.168.102.1 (your Motorola VT1000 MTA phone adapter
configuration)
Under BASIC CONFIGURATION, select "Obtain IP Address Dynamically". Clear the Static IP info. SAVE the changes. Click YES when asked if you
wish to reboot the (MTA) device.
DO NOT be concerned that the Router and MTA device will conflict in
terms of DHCP IP addresses.
On your PC, you can change it back to obtain an IP address through DHCP
automatically. Reboot your PC. You should be OK now. |

Hey bneuman,
I appreciate your help and i did what you said and was able to login to the vonage box, but when i rebooted i cant login anymore to see my configuration settings. I enabled DHCP, but it seemed to have more settings after, but when i tried to see more settings. NO LUCK in doing anything else.
I repeated the process but to no avail. I cant login to the motorola box.
I am plugging in the motorola cat5 cable that was supplied with the box to the pc port on the box and my nic adapter. typed in http://192.168.102.1 and nothing. Page cannot be found.
What am i doing wrong here.
Thanks,

also,
i have enabled on my router dhcp. as well as before i was unable to login to the motorola box it was enabled to dhcp as well.
Could this be the problem as well?
I think that vonage should have a better support for their products. Now i have to wait for you guys to respond as i dont want to pay $2.50 a minute from where i live for tech support. "The whole reason for getting this product in the first place!"
thanks all,
ANY HELP would be awesome as quickly as you can.

Why don't you list your setup? Maybe something will pop up.
If I understand, you changed your PC network setting to a static IP like 192.168.102.2
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.102.1
Plugged in cat5 patch cable from your PC to vt1000's PC port. Reboot both. You were now able to log in to vt1000 and change static IP to DHCP.
Reboot and now you can't get back into VT1000? Is this correct? Problem is the Vt1000 is trying to give out an IP to your PC. Your PC is still set with a static IP. Did you change your gateway? After reading your next post I'm confused where your router is coming into play.... |
