My current PBX does not like Vonage. I need a Voip compatible PBX with 2 CO lines and 8 extensions for my home. I do not want to spend a small fortune on this system. Any recommendations?
Also, can I make my toll free number my fax number so people do not have to pay when they send me faxes? |

Yes..
I would recommend an Epygi 2X device with a Voip service.
Faxing is tricky and Vonage doesn't promote faxing as its strength. If you are looking for a Voip service that works well using the T.38 faxing protocol, then let me know. I can make a recommendation there, but out of respect for Dan C. and the Vonage Forum, I will refrain from talking about other Voip services on this board.
thank you, Don |

Many many people have been able to set up faxing without problems.

Any recommendations? | This forum has helped people solve several PBX related issues. Perhaps if you mentioned what problems you were having and what type of equipment you had the people here might be able to make suggestions that will help it work. Depending on your free time and computer skills you may want to consider building your own Asterisk (linux based) PBX.

If you don't mind making your primary number your fax line then you could have your toll free number ring your fax line. I don't disagree with Veep's suggestions for business users, however I am interpreting your needs differently than he has. |
