VoIP Speed Test freezes...

...every time I try to use it, no matter what browser I use.I've tried Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera and Mozilla, all of them with the latest updates, patches, etc. Same result each time, the test starts, then freezes during or right after the download test. Any ideas?

It's probably Java's fault.

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp

Remove whatever Java is on your computer now, then get JRE 5.0 from that site.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it, uninstalled all the old Java, restarted, installed new Java, restarted. No difference. Sad

Something must have happened, or been done, to my computer. It was working fine a few days ago, now, this....

Guess I'll have to check for spyware and other crap.. Neutral

Were any errors displayed in your Java console?

The Java console should be accessible via the Java icon in the system tray or through the Java control panel.

Try turning off your firewall.

Thanks for the info. I was pretty sure the problem was/is on my end. I just can't seem to track down what it is.

I'll figure it out, eventually.

The speed tests are working now but the results seem to be way off. I got 1.6/229 on the speed test here and I got 4750/335 on the Speakeasy tests. They are usually pretty close to each other.
