You can actually already do this if you set the notification e-mail address to your SMS address from your cell provider. You even get to see the caller ID information in the text message. |
Yep I have been using this since I got vonage... For example for T-Mobile I use 0000000000@tmomail.net where the zeros are of course your cell number goes but yeah it works great! |
My problem with this that the email message is too many characters, so cingular splits it into 2 Text messages. It would be nice if we could configure the VM email. |

umm... federal law provides this for everyone with a 10 digit "phone" number they dont want called.
the "national do not call registry" for those who somehow missed hearing about it the 1st & 2nd time around can (still) be found online:
donotcall.gov, fcc.gov, ftc.gov
register all the phone numbers you have - be they telco, cell, Voip, sip, whatever. i did & (hope this is why) i dont have a problem with telemktrs |

top 10 reasons Vonage feels no obligation to provide "anon call rej" &/or "call blocking" when it was the very act of switching over to Vonage that left us wide open & defenseless to such calls: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.
top/any explanation/reason from Vonage why we cant/dont have pc caller id considering to subscribe to Vonage requires a highspeed internet connection which i have for no other reason than my, what? pc. but we can have softphone - as an add-on. lets see... motorola makes the cable modem, cable box, Voip adapter, even my cordless phone (or is that they no longer make any of equipt that bears their name?):

Please add these to the mix.....
I would like to see them add the capability of routing incoming calls based on caller ID information to a selection of Voice Mail greetings based on what you want the caller to hear. This means you would have multiple Voice Mail greetings and a set up table that you could list which calling numbers go to which greetings.
I would also like to see Vonage come up with a Premium Calling Plan that would include not only all long distance calls, but also include International calling for one flat monthly rate. Maybe it is a $30.00 or $35.00/month plan…. |

Vonage does this for me today .. my email address is the sms address of my sprintpcs phone.
I would like to see redial and mute .. for phones with neither of those options. |

I have made myself a tool that sends me email notifications when I miss a call on my Vonage line. It can work as PC application or as a Web service. It's extensible so features like multiple voicemail notifications are also doable.
