Does anyone else have a problem dialling 0906 numbers?
When I do, I receive the following recorded message:
"The number you have dialled has been blocked. Please call customer care for more information. O105"
I have contacted Vonage support who informs me that it may be a routing issue and will look into it.
Just wondering if this happens to anyone else?
Even if I just dial 0906 and then wait for 5-10 seconds, I still receive the recorded message.
I first noticed the problem when I tried to use a SKY interactive service and found that the call was not being connected.
Thanks! |

Yes same for me - used to get number unobtainable tone but now get message you describe.
B.T.W. - will your SKY box connect to any number? |

Yeah, I get the same issue here too. I sometimes try to call TV competitions and can't because both Vonage and my mobile provider block them. Shame. I might ring up to ask them if it's something they can fix. |

I contacted customer service about calling premium rate numbers, as I had trouble voting for Big Brother <shame!>
They told me that premium numbers can't be called from a Vonage line, and they don't have any future plans to offer this service! |

Vonage does not allow access to premium rate numbers that begin with 09xxx. This feature was requested by the vast majority of potential customers who we talked with before we launched the service.
We apologise is this is inconvenient for some.We will always consider making changes to the functionality if there is sufficient demand from customers.
Access to premium rate numbers is a particularly sensitive topic for most customers who are happy to have it blocked.

hmm i thats fair enough
09xxx number range have different charges for different services
some 09xxx numbers cost as little as 10ppm up to £1.50ppm
and i think when asking customer about premium rate numbers i would imagine they only think of the 50ppm up to £1.50 numbers haha! and who wouldnt but most tv programs will use a 09xxx number which then means you cant participate even if the call is say 25p per call.
i suppose its like the 118 numbers they can charge up to £1.50 ppm and they are not barred.
just a thought though

Off topic, but worthy of a reply:
I am very honored to have Mr Kerry posting here. It says a lot about his commitment to customer satisfaction.
Thank you, |

Does this apply to the 0871 number that was discussed in the thread, "Dialing Speaking Clock from USA"? |

The way I see it, there should be an option on the dashboard to bar/unbar premium rate numbers as well as a normal number barring (incoming) system, would be easier all round imho |

I agree with TRIaXOR
Just stopping all 09*** calls seems not at all flexible or customer friendly ....
More should be made of the web interface, which has great potential. |
