why does Vonage Charge PST tax for Alberta ? maybe even other provinces I am not even sure.
I noticed on ********** theres a lot of more stuff that are so misleading about Vonage.
i like Vonage, but a lot of things dont add up.
if they charge GST, operate as a canadian company, and PST, how come our calls still orginate in New Jersey, and because of that we cant call most toll free numbers, 310 numbers. this is crazy. |

I don't know why you're getting charged PST, but I'm not. I'm only getting charged GST. |

I'm in BC and I'm getting charged the GST as well as PST. I think with Telus they calculate PST on some services but not all. I think long distance is PST exempt but I can't remember, it's been too long. |

No PST charged in Alberta.. although that's not a good comparison. It's probably some rule the ass-backwards CRTC has. |

They charge PST and GST in Ontario. The company you purchase service from is not Vonage, it's Vonage Canada -- Vonage Canada is a Canadian company (its in Mississauga, Ontario) charging Canadian taxes ... Is Alberta PST-exempt from all purchases or ??? |

Alberta has no PST. It simply doesn't exist there. Provincial sales taxes are only chargeable to residents of the province in question, or people located in the province who are making the purchase (e.g. tourists). |
