We did multiple resets, Mac clones, factory resets, etc....for some reason one of them took and it worked..Although I can't tell what specifically did it.

Also be careful of expections. I know that after I did my first factory reset it worked fine for about 30 minutes. Then it went out, and wouldn't come back up even after another factory reset

I am having the same issues with this router. I received it from Vonage after ordering my third line, so I already have a Motorola ATA. It worked for maybe one hour after setting it up initially, but after that, nothing. Factory resets don't help (the factory reset option in the web admin doesn't even work ... says "Settings are failed" ... gotta love that great quality programming by LinkSys)

I guess I will have to go back to Vonage and request a Motorola ATA in it's place. I gave up on buying Linksys products a while ago due to crappy software and no form of quality control on their products. I guess my decision then was warranted, I just wish I had a choice of what Vonage sends me when I order a new line.

Once I had a new RT31p2 overnighted to me, but the second time we did a factory reset, got the new firmware, also did some MAC cloning, (I think there may have been a chicken sacrifice to the Vonage gods in there somewhere Very Happy ) and it seemed to have worked. I have not had a single issue since then...

Success! I was able to work around this problem. I actually followed some info from another thread. Except instead of connecting the linksys voice adapter straight to my router, I actually connected it straight to my cable modem. On top of that I powered down my cable modem and re-started it. I was able to get a phone connection a few minutes after doing that. After I confirmed the phone worked, I moved it back to my original configuration (Internet -> Cable Modem -> Firewall/Server -> Switch -> Wireless AP -> Wirless Bridge -> Switch -> Linksys Voice Adapter) and it connected just fine. I will keep an eye on it and see if it goes back to being dead after a few hours and re-post, but this may help out others who have the same issue.

I've been getting the same thing. Spent 2.5 hrs with tech support to discover my Cisco ATA 186 was hosed, and then they sent me the Linksys RT31P2. I got the Linksys up and running and it worked for about 4 hours and now it is hosed, the Voice section of the router config page shows "Router still restarting. Please wait a moment." Talked to tech support for another 3 hours, troubleshooting (after a couple of dropped calls because I was on my cell. And of course with each new dial-in to their tech support they ran me through the same procedures.) Still no luck. They want to replace the device they just sent me the day before. I don't get it.... the Cisco ATA 186 worked just fine for me for over two years.

Does anyone know why this router Linksys RT31P2 is so crappy?

why it get stuck when you try to reset it with the factory setting?... always that message "Router still restarting. Please wait a moment"....

Vonage CS is great, they just send me the replacement but another Linksys RT31P2, so I have to pray and cross my fingers to have this router good!!!

I have had the same problem. they are going to replace it with the RTP300....i sure hope that this device works better than my old one
