Post subject: No dial tone with pc fax modem
I've browsed the forums. I've changed baud rate to 9600 on the modem. Using winfax. Tried every combination. fax modem is plugged into same line used for voice. Phone works fine. No dial tone with fax.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Some fax modems have two jacks in the back. One for Phone and one for Line. If yours does have two jacks, try switching to the other jack. You might have it plugged in the "phone" hole.
If you don't have to jacks on the back of your modem, forget this advice.

If there is a setting to blind dial set that. That means it will dial without a dial tone. I have my fax modem set to 9600 and blind dial and it works fine. I dont even use *99 or whatever just dial as normal and inbound/outbound work great.
