Hi, i got Vonage about a month and half ago and i've been very satisfied with it so far

but for the last few days, my phoneline just stop working, theres no tone no nothing. I called a technician, and he tried his best to help me by disconnecting everything, and reconnecting and did it step by step, but still the phone doesn't work, the light isn't on, He later connected me to another technician but i had to go somewhere before i could speak with him. Now im looking for help on this forum, i've got nothing else... if this continues, i'm afraid, ill have to discconnet my services with Vonage so plz help

ps: my internet still works when i connect it to the router

ZERO,

Please give more information such as the Vonage device you are using(PAP2,RT31P2,WRTP54G etc...) as well as any other device on your network(Modem, other router, etc....)

well i have cable internet with Roadrunner and a DCM305 cable modem and i got the RT31P2 broadband router from Vonage, and thats all i use

I know this is very basic but start with this. Power cycle which im sure they told you to do. You said you disconnected everything but did you try rebooting everything ?Also what are the LEDs on the device doing ("Blinking red, flashing etc..")?

Straight from the Vonage Knowledge Base
Check to make sure the phone is plugged into the Linksys Voice Terminal Device's "phone port 1 or phone port 2." Try switching them around. Once the unit is powered on, the Linksys RT31P2 always generates a dial tone. Dial tone is generated even when the WAN port is not connected to the broadband.
If you do not get a dial tone, try rebooting your home network.

I know this is basic stuff but please let me know if it helps or you need further assistance.

Also one more thing, if you had no luck with the Vonage Tier 2 Reps tell them you have called several times and ask to speak with someone from Tier 3.

One more thing, you may want to log onto your web account or ask CS to do it and make sure your account doesnt have a problem (credit didnt go through,whatever)

I have tried switching them around the phone lines around but still no light, the only things that are blinking is the ethernet 1 port and the internet, the power is on, but there is no light on the phone ports.

I reseted my network serveral times, i even pressed the reset button and restarted everything when i log onto the router IP. when i go into Status>voice, it says "Router still restarting. Please wait a moment." and its been like this since Sunday, when i check my account activity, i just have a lot of missed calls, it says my acc is active, and i have been paying my bills.

I am on the phone right now but im on hold right now so i'll inform u on what they say

did you say that line1 of the router is not lit even though your phone is connected to it? and when you tried it on line 2 it doesn't lit as well? ...2 possible cause, phone cables or the phone itself

I have the same problem. What ISP do you use? I am using Adelphia. I have tried rebooting my home network and routing multiple time with no luck.

We have the same problem and its driving me crazy, i'm asking them for a new router...

I emailed them and they offered a solution but it failed, so i emailed them back telling them the results and i haven't got a reply back

You will also have to send your old router back. Tell them to send you a
return ticket so you dont have to pay for the S and H.
