After 1 month of making connections and downloading without problems it now will not. It still connects but does not stay connected long enough to complete down load. I made no changes. I get call interupted and sometimes account verification failed. I have a Sony series 1 and am using:
Dial Prefix ,,#019 Call Waiting *99 and 1-212-277-3895
Same everything that was workingfine until a week ago. Any suggestions? |

Check testyourvoip.com and see if you have a problem with your broadband connection.
Have you rebooted all of your equipment (modem/adapter)?
Finally you can run a pingplotter test and see what that result is, also try your TiVo calls at low Internet usage times. |

Calhusky1, did you get yours to work? I have a Sony series 1 tivo as well with no problems for over a year now and suddenly it stopped working. It gives me either a "Failed. Service Unavailable" or "call interrupted." I even got myself an external modem from weaknees.com and it still gives me the same response. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

I got mine to start working again although it doesn't connect everytime as it did before. I first rebooted my surfboard and router and then tried the test dial for 212 area code. Right now it works with: 212-277-3895 Prefix ,,#019 Call Waiting *99
I then had to force the call at least 5 times. Each time it seamed to stay connected a little longer until finally it finished. I don't know if there was some big update or what but the dowload took about 45 minutes. Now it dials and connects on its own but I noticed that I still get failed calls when I occasionally check.
Hope this helps.

At first I had the same problem as you, but I've figured it you since with no dropped connections.
I have a SVR-2000 series 1 Tivo. These are the settings I use:
12122717103 Prefix ,#019 Call Waiting *99
I then put a DSL filter at the back of the Linksys Router/ATA. From the DSL line I plugged a phone cord into a wall jack so the whole house has access to vonage's service. Then my SVR is plugged into a phone jack. The key was the DSL filter. I tried it without one and it kept dropping my connection. Once I put the filter in place, I've had no problems. |

***Here's an update****
I set my Dial Prefx to *99,12122773895,,,, Call waiting to *70 Tone Off Off
That seems to have worked. It finished downloading and now I'm updating. Currently at 82%
We'll see what happens next.
I'm trying to set up my sony svr-2000 that was given to me. The service has been paid for for a year. I'm using the linksys router with a phone line splitter and cordless phone. Don't think the phone makes a difference though. My call prefix is ,#034 and my call waiting code is *99. I'm getting a "Successful Test Call" and when I make the regular call, it connects, gets a time update and begins downloading but then after a minute or so gives me a "Call Interrupted" message and I have to start all over.
I'm about to pull my hair out. Any suggestions? |

I used the following: Dial Prefix: *99, Tel Number: 12122773895 Call waiting: *70 Tone Off Off
IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE, I UNPLUGGED THE COMPUTER WORKSTATION CABLE FROM THE BACK OF THE LINKSYS ROUTER SO THAT THE TELEPHONE WOULD HAVE THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF BANDWIDTH. FOR THE FIRST TIME, IT WORKED! |

I've been connecting to DirecTV/Tivo service using the New York City dial-in number above for the last six months with great success. Now all of a sudden (the last week or two) the daily calls aren't connecting. When I dialed the 212-277-3895 number from a handset, I got an error message saying the number is not in service.
Has anyone else experienced that, and is there another number that will work as well? |

Not sure why Vonage would block number. I'm not sure their interest. You might try 212-920-3005. I have gotten this to work.

Yes, I tried that number as an alternative and it did indeed work. |
