Most windows users are aware of a program that
Vonage
offers that will allow you to dial phone numbers via a secure portal on the web via an interface.
Vonage
currently doesn't support a mac version.
I found the following application that will allow you to dial numbers directly from your phone book on your mac via the secure websight.
Take a peek at:

This means no additional charge for a softphone! Take a look!
