I'll keep it brief as I know this is familiar to some of you:

February 22, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
February 24, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
March 1, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier

Todays date: June 14th.

Just because it states that the transfer was sent to carrier, doesn't mean it has gone to your current Telco. Vonage uses a third party "Wholesaler or CLEC" for many of their numbers as Vonage doesn't hold a contract with a number of the land line based companies out there.

Bottom line - (I'm stuck but have a date)

1. Call and ask for the president of Vonage - Mr. Jeffrey A. Citron
(You should get a phone call back from someone on the executive response team, and yes folks, they actually call you back!)

2. Find out if the request was actually sent to a CLEC or your actual carrier. If it is at the CLEC, get the scoop on who the president is and call his office. Vonage isn't going to give you the info, your going to have to do your research... I know who it is for the midwest tho! Smile That's probably where the hang-up (excuse the punn) is.

3. Call the presidents office of your current landline provider.

4. File a complaint at FCC.GOV

5. Request a refund of the monthly charges from Vonage. I've beeen going thru this since Feb, and havent' paid a dime yet. (nor should I!)

**As of today, I received an anticipated transfer date of June 20th directly from the CLEC. **

Happy Hunting!

The system does not lend its self to helping the customer. I have been hitting my head from Dec 19, 2004. The LPN dept has know cleuuuuu your account is not assisend to an account rep it just is. Good luck.
I called to close my account was credited and told I would get a call in seven days they were going to fast track and get me an answer as to when I could expect to have my number ported. Well the cancellation department is just like the LPN dept its now been twenty days.
Strange that I can get a cell number ported in 24 hrs but a landline that I pay a surcharge for well flock I guess by next Xmas. Make you wounder how long Vonage really plans to be hear they keep giving us credits to keep us. Can they really be making money or is this a shell game......?
PS Do these Dept MGR check the closed vs still open tickets?
