Nope, you're not screwed. It should be very workable.
First of all, turn off PPPoE on your computer.
Your next goal is to get to http://192.168.15.1/
If you can't get there, then you might have to mess with some network settings until it works. It should be pretty much automatic, but make sure your ethernet card is using TCP/IP, and that it's set to get an IP using DHCP.
Once you can get to the config page, then set your connection type to PPPoE and put in your login info. The router should be able to make the PPPoE connection on its own.
At this point, the internet access should be working from the computer, and hopefully the Vonage service is up also.
Post back with updates on how stuff is going. |

Paul248-- YOU RULE! Indeed this was the problem. I did what you suggested-- changed my connection settings to manual and told my machine what the machine IP address was and router was (192.168.15.100 and 1 respectively). I rebooted and was then able to access my router, which I configured for PPPoE. Then I reset my connection settings back to PPPoE...and now I have both phone and internet working!
I hope that Vonage is paying you...I spent hours on the phone with tech support, and none of them could help. Anyways, thanks again.

You should not have had to re-enable PPPoE on your computer. The router's PPPoE provides the connection for your entire network. |
