Ok didn't know how to title this but here's the deal:

April 17, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
April 18, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
April 18, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
June 8, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer

June 9 (today) supposed to be finished, when I call my home number I get the "do do do(music) please try again...."

Is this normal? I am expecting some important calls and having my line down is NO GOOD!

Ok not happy spoke to 3 different CS reps all say the same thing that it's normal to lose incoming service on the number that is being ported the day it's ported and I may not be able to recieve incoming calls on that number for 12-48 hours.... man this really **** and I feel like someone has dropped the ball here... Confused

I will be surprised if you do not have dial tone in the morning.

We have never had a report of SBC or any RBOC disconnecting a line prior to it being ported.

Well count me as the first.... I am very upset! No tone this morning and SBC has COMEPLTELY disconnected my line no tone at all. Called Vonage again this morning and they say they show approval on 8th but that they aren't getting the number until the 13th!!! So now they are saying that they can't do anything until then, meaning my number is in some weird limbo until then. I am really really ticked at this point I don't know who I am more mad at; SBC for disconnecting, or Vonage for not having their act together and just expiditing the port on their side. This really messes me up because now that number isn't working AT ALL. At least 2 days ago it let me make calls.

It is a complicated process, but I understand it well.

I can tell you that SBC is very much at fault.

I will also be very surprised if you do not have service prior to the 13th.
