Hey All, After going through a Siemens 2420 not ringing properly and many hours with customer service, I received a new RT31P2 which still didn't fix my problem. So I consulted the forums here and saw the TRU 8860 got great reviews. Brought it home and now the 8860 doesn't ring at all!! I can call out, get VM indicator, pick up an incoming call.... Everything but get the stupid thing to ring. It acts as if nothing is happening, ie no CID/lights/ring on incoming calls. I did plug the phone into a landline and it rang no problem. So, after an hour and a half with multiple Vonage reps, I have still not gotten a resolution. Some of the stuff I/they have tried: Tried both lines. Upped something to 900 mAmps?? Rebooted many times. Reloaded the firmware. Any ideas? I am about at my wits end with this Vonage. I would love to get this to work as these are sweet phones. Thanks. |

I will give them another call and try again. The pair I talked to last night didn't sound like they had any clue as far as what was going on.
Thanks for the info reebok. |

forgot to ask, is the phone hooked directly to the device or are you using your home phone jacks? |

It's been directly to the device since I began troubleshooting this on Sunday.
I did have it running throughout the house originally and the other phones worked. Last night, I put an analog phone directly on the box and got a ring as well. |

Ringer voltage turned up to 90 and still nothing on the ring. Did I miss something?
I talked with Uniden CS. The Uniden TRU 8860 has a ringer voltage of 30. As the only phone connected to the router, I would think there is plenty available.
I am going to do a total phone reset and power cycle everything a few times. |

Finished power cycle and reset. Still no Ring. Just to add to the story. I connected to the Vonage line with my cell phone and then called the Vonage line with my wifes cell phone. Both 8860 handsets lit up and reported the CID for my wifes cell phone. Any other ideas? |

Try using a phone with a lower REN value. Sometimes, when the REN is too high, the ATA does not have enough power to ring the phone. |

I exchanged the 8860 for another unit hoping it may have been the problem. No such luck. Same problem. It must be something with the router. In review, the ringer voltage is bumped up to 90 and the frequency is 900 I believe. The ringer voltage of the 8860 is 30 per Uniden Tech Support. The handsets ring when paging each other, but they do nothing on an incoming phone call through the router. All other phone functions work great including outgoing calls. Other phones work off the router even though the 8860 doesn't even when connected directly. I tried cutting the power to the downstream wireless router and it made no difference. Anyone who uses these phones have any hints on there setup? I know several people use these cordless phones and are very happy with them. Thanks for any help. . |
