I don't know if this was my 5th or 6th CS Rep, but I finally got this issue resolved. Persistence must be the key. The rep I spoke with insisted that my phone was not working properly and the router was good. After calming myself, I insisted he play with the settings one more time. He turned the frequency down to 30. On the same restart, he also adjusted the waveform from sinusoidal to trapezoidal I believe. And hallelujah it works!! Not only that, I also plugged in my Siemens 2420 and it works too!!! Anyone want to buy a phone? LOL! So for all those interested, my setting for the TRU 8860 and Siemens 2420 are now: Voltage= 90 Frequency = 30 Waveform = Trapezoidal (I believe) Hope this helps someone skip all the misery I've had to get to this point. Thanks for all those who helped out as well. |

He turned the frequency down to 30? I believe a ring signal is supposed to be 20Hz @ 90 Volts. |

I would think that a phone company tech person would know something like that or have it in their database. Mine was set at 100Hz up to last night. And if I hadn't insisted it still would be, this tech claimed he had no control over those settings. Thanks paul248. I'll bet "20Hz @ 90" would have been a good place to start a long time ago. Do you know anything about the waveform? I did some Google searches last night and most of what I found was too technical for me. What' the norm sinusoidal or trapezoidal? I know it is a difference in shape of the waveform, but why would you use one over the other? |
