Not true. One can get at the configuration pages of the VT1005 just fine through the web interface. Afterall, it is a router (a crapy one to be sure) so this functionality is required.

Unfortunately, the VT1005 does not have a factory reset. If you have kept track of your IP's, you shouldn't have difficulty in getting to the web configuration page. BTW, I run a loopback on my VT1005 for configuration quite successfully. I don't run DHCP anywhere on our network though. Standard patch cable from PC port on VT1005 to upstream router. Vonage doesn't support this so don't bother to call them if it doesn't work for you.

If you are in serious trouble, you will need to attach a computer directly to the PC port on the VT1005. Try the standard URL to get at the configuration pages. If that doesn't work try the static address of the VT; 192.168.102.100 or 192.168.102.101.

Maniac8888,

Well I've rebooted my router and the VT1005. I have a dedicated PC hooked to the VT1005 through a standard patch cable. I have tried unsuccessfully to get into the config page by:

http://192.168.102.1
http://192.168.102.100
http://192.168.102.101
http://192.168.0.7

192.168.0.7 is the static address I setup in the Vt1005. I can access the internet using the dedicated PC through the V1005. I have a dialtone and can make and receive phone calls. I just want to clear up this boon doogle I've created. Any more ideas?

I emailed Vonage about my problem and they emailed me back in less than 45 mins with the answer. I now have gotten back into the web configuration page and made the changes they suggested.

So far my experience with Vonage has been exellent. I am really pleased.

wish to reboot the (MTA) device.
DO NOT be concerned that the Router and MTA device will conflict in
terms of DHCP IP addresses.

On your PC, you can change it back to obtain an IP address through DHCP
automatically. Reboot your PC. You should be OK now.
