Just curious how you're running your speed tests? Thanks! |

What was the configuration which resulted in the 3Mbps speed, and what was the configuration which resulted in the 7Mbps speed? |

My recommendation would be to have your hardware setup as (using the RT31P2):
1) Your cable modem
2) your existing router
3) the RT31P2 router

I have the RT31P2 and don't use it as my LAN router, but have it between my cable modem and existing router, which I use for DHCP as well. I don't know how you would be able to to take advantage of QoS (or basically giving a higher priority to voice calls) if you have it after your existing router as noted above unless your existing router can do QoS (but then you could use the PAP2 as well, which does not have QoS). Since I don't use it as my LAN router, if it is 10 or 100 mpbs, should not matter as my cable modem is only about 3 mbps - however the ports are listed as 10/100. This setup works great for me but YMMV. |

I have the RT31P2 router/adapter and it works just fine. I use it only as an adapter and connected it behind my WiFi router. |
