Finally got Brinks working with Vonage.
Brinks had to come out and replace the motherboard in my alarm system, for it to work properly with VoIP.
I also had to call Vonage and make sure that my phone line was setup like a fax line. Example, the VoIP packets need to be setup as 10K packets (G.729 quality) instead of 64K packets (G.711 quality). Also the code "C" needs QOS priority high.
Everything works Great! I even think that the call quality is better than it was before. I know that G.711 calls are supposed to be better than G.729, but to tell ya the truth, I really can not tell a difference.
Hope this helps out anyone else with using Brinks over there Vonage connection. |

Does it cost anything to have vonage switch the packets to 10K, and will this help out with DirecTivo.
