Post subject: Check your 'Temp' # exchange
I signed up for
Vonage
last year. I requested my existing number so I was assigned a temporary number until my old number was transferred. Well after a long wait I found out they were having problems xfering my old # because my provider was Time-Warner but on paper the number was owned by Worldcom ? I finally said just give me the temp number and forget the old number. Much to my surprise I have found out the temp number they had given me is a exchange for another city. Now people calling me in my city are charged a toll if they have the local Ma Bell service. I emailed customer service and was told I could make the number in question a virtual number and get a new one with the correct exchange .... FOR $4.99 ADDITIONAL A MONTH
Give me a break. They are the ones who gave me a incorrect exchange to start with. Anyway if you are considering using this service be sure to double check the exchange so your friends and family are not charged toll to call you.

I'm in the same boat now.
The number they gave me is for
a city 70 miles from me.
It's long distance to call my house from
across the road.
