Hi,
If you have tried
e
LNP, please post your experiences here. Success or Failure.
I am currently stuck with my LNP with nearly 6 weeks and am wondering if I should cancel my regular LNP process and restart it with
e
LNP?
thanks,
Osho
What more can I say, it was painless and my experience with
Vonage
has already paid for itself.

Post subject: Porting from Verizon - Maine 207
After having carefully read a number of positive and negative experiences I decided to switch from Verizon to
Vonage
since I make a lot of in state toll calls and long distance calls in the US and international to Hungary (can't beat .06/minute with
Vonage
) and Verizon was slowly bleeding us dry. I did do some fairly serious research and did not see in a random sampling a lot of problems with eLOA, so I just jumped in. I've been looking for folks who've switched in Maine, wondering if there's such a thing as a local users group. Then again I guess I can just call anyone in the US or Canada for as long as I want now, in the event I can't figure something out.
I did not expect the time frame for porting to be as quick as it was, but it went quickly enough, LOA sent on August 27 and LPN transfer completed September 12. This was for me acceptable.
The only glitch I've experienced so far wasn't with porting, it was signing up for new 911/e911 when my address was rejected as not existing! Wow, wish our city tax collector thought the same thing. What I found out was our city has no "roads" just streets (guess the city administrator has to do something to justify his job, like toying with semantics) so I changed that and was signed up with no problem.

New York City, was originally a Verizon line which was later moved to MCI "The Neighorhood". Not a bad turnaround... and just in time, considering I just got my RTP300 yesterday.

My email says the expected completion date is September 16, 2005.

The no service customer service has been zero help and I've wasted a lot of time and money with this company.

Interesting experience...Bell Canada (Ontario) ->
Vonage
September 4, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
September 6, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
September 6, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
No further info posted nor emails from
Vonage
as of 22 Sept BUT...
Dialtone disappeared off of Bell landline 18 Sep and original Bell number now rings through to
Vonage
line as it should post transfer. However orignal
Vonage
virtual number is also still active.

Post subject: eLNP
Interesting progression on my eLNP.
Two weeks after completing my form, and continuing to see "Transfer Sent to Carrier" on the dashboard, I got a little impatient. I called my carrier, The Neighborhood, by MCI. MCI told me they would be happy to help me, but they had not received a request from
Vonage
.
After hanging up with MCI, I promptly called
Vonage
Customer Service. I was pleasantly surprised to get a live person VERY quickly. After explaining the situation, she put me on hold for about two or three minutes, came back and said "The request has been sent to your carrier, and there is an anticipated transfer date of Sept. 28". I thanked her and hung up, but got the distinct impression that my call to
Vonage
moved it from a backlog queue to immediate processing. I actually thought that maybe she contacted MCI while I was on the phone.
Today, I received my confirming email from
Vonage
of the expected transfer date.
Maybe it was just a coincidence that my call seemed to move it along, but regardless, I'm satisfied.
