Tronixx, I noticed the same thing regarding the 911. Also my mailbox password did not reset like it said it would. Verizon line was dead after midnight. Glad to hear you ported OK.

Well, I'm surprised... Was starting to think it wasn't going to happen... but I was very pleasantly surprised when I got home tonight & saw my RTP300's Line LED winking at me and "1 MISSED CALL" on my phone. I immediately called my # and sure enough, there it was. I'm not sure what time they switched it, but it works. I haven't checked my Cingular phone which I'm porting the number from, but will tomorrow.

Goodbye $120+/mo cell bills!

I've noticed alot of people complaining of long LNP waits, many with Verizon. I just wanted to post my experience, using eLNP and Verizon. I am pretty pleased. Less than 2 weeks to get the transfer approved, and that was even with an INITIAL REJECTION from Verizon because I had DSL on the line wating to be ported. Next day after getting rejection email from Vonage, I cancelled DSL, emailed the cancellation number to Vonage, and 1 1/2 weeks later, transfer approved.

I'm not a happy camper at all (see the below). Twice now, Vonage told me my number could be ported (309) Peoria. Twice, after doing the eLOA thing, I was advised it couldn't be done. The web site still shows my numer is transferrable. I asked "how will I know when I can (finally) submit another request" and was told to watch the web site availability. Ridiculous, it's shown a positive availability for over 3 months now.

Oh well!

Transferring my home number from MCI Neighborhood (number was a BellSouth native phone line). Signed up with Vonage on 9/5. Received email a few minutes ago that my service transfer will be completed tomorrow 9/14 - 9 days in total! I was a bit apprehensive about the entire transfer process after reading some of the other members war stories about LNP gone bad. I've already finished cleaning up the house and alarm wiring so that the only thing left for me to do is switch out the connection from the telco demarc to my
PAP2 - which is just 2 wires to be punched down on a Leviton security module (thanks to the info found here in the Fax, Tivo & Alarm forum). I've put about 350 minutes of use through the PAP2 connected directly to a phone on my desk and haven't had any problems at all - voice quality is very good on both ends - but now the real test begins with all phones & all household members using Vonage.

Received an email yesterday saying my number was released by MCI and the transfer would be completed today - and sure enough at 10:00 my first "ported" call came in on my vonage phone. I've since swapped the telco demarc for my PAP2 output and have my whole house working perfectly - including my alarm which I've made test calls to the monitoring company without any problems at all.

So far my experience has been very positive - everything has just worked the way it is supposed to and my number transfer took only 9 days in total - from Sept 5 (initial sign-up) to Sept 14 for the actual completion of the transfer - this includes two weekends and the labor day holiday.

I wish all of you the same luck that I've had.

I waited quite some time before canceling LOA and starting ELOA and I keep getting e-mails that my e911 is not right. I tried to correct it but something seems messed up?
