Post subject: So far so good w/ 2 LNP's!
Got the e-mail today from
Vonage
that both of my lines are scheduled for transfer on the same day (funny as they are two separate accounts and 2 diff local providers: Verizon and RCN).
Line 1:
August 5, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
August 8, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
August 9, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
August 11, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
August 12, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
August 22, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer
Line 2:
August 8, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
August 9, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
August 10, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
August 22, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer
I'm praying there are no complications.......

Quick follow-up to my previous post....
I had both lines (at different houses) scheduled for transfer on the 22nd/23rd.
Woke up yesterday morning and it was obvious that the old phone carriers (Verizon & RCN) had done their disconnect job because NEITHER phone number was working.... I kept getting fast busies on both number showing that the switch didn't know where to route the call.
So I was rather nervous at people not being able to call in and not knowing how long it would take to resolve having heard from horror stories on here..
As of this morning, both numbers now work fine for incoming calls and show up nicely in my Dashboard w/o the "F" next to the numbers.
Other than 1 day of no incoming call access, its been pretty smooth for LNP transfer.
Best of luck to all!

We are pleased to inform you that your request to transfer XXX-XXX-XXX from your current carrier to
Vonage
was accepted on September 2, 2005. The process of moving your number to
Vonage
is almost complete.
Your expected transfer date is September 6, 2005.
When the transfer is complete we will inform you immediately by email.
Thank you for your business. As always, if you have any questions...
July 3, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
July 4, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
July 4, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
September 2, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer
'bout time! will post once its fully completed...
ironic perhaps, but when i signed up for
vonage
(july 4th) it was a holiday... the eLOA was sent on that holiday.. now the proces should be completed
ON
a holiday... coincidence?
sooo, whats up with the others on this list? updates?

Updated Date: Number Transfer Progress History:
August 9, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
August 11, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
August 12, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
September 1, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer
It says my official transfer date will be Sept 8th - but my Verizon line no longer works and my number is transfered to
Vonage
's line, so it's 99% done I guess....

Porting from Verizon in Maryland. Early this week I checked my account on Verizon's site, under "Order/Repair Status" and noticed a "Disconnect Service" order. A few days later I got an email from
Vonage
saying the transfer has been scheduled.
July 1, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
July 2, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
July 2, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
September 2, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer
Says transfer date is the 6th (three day weekend, understandable). We shall see Tuesday!

Porting from Verizon in S. Jersey. So far all me experiences with
Vonage
, including Customer Serivce Calls, have been great. NO call quality issues to date. So far so good.

LOL Tronixx.
Twilight zone indeed!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. I called my Verizon # and
Vonage
voicemail picked up. No emails or website updates from
Vonage
as of yet!

Post subject: Porting from SBC in Austin - my experience
I just wanted to share my successful experience so far (knock on wood!)
First got
vonage
as a second line and tested it for a month, after everything worked fine with that line, I transferred my land line to
Vonage
. Porting from SBC (TX) to
Vonage
August 23, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
August 23, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received (eLOA)
August 24, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
September 7, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer
September 7, 2005 Completed LNP Transfer
Fax works over
vonage
line (without *99), I was able to connect a modem at 31kbps!. I also have an ADT alarm service and the trick there was change "packetization" down to 10 (30 by default in my case), and it now connects to ADT with no problems (so far) Bandwidth Saver is set up to 50kbps.
Broadband Internet Service is through Time Warner, all my home network is wireless so I connected the linksys that
Vonage
sent to my TCP/IP wireless base.
