After 3 months of nothing on the paper trail. I cancelled and resubmitted using the eLOA and my number ported in 7 days from Bellsouth.
Great Stars and Garters!
I am envious...waiting for my port from Verizon since June 28.
Congratulations.

Can you please send me that information also? My transfer is stuck in limbo. For the past 6 days I have no incoming calls. Verizon released my number and
Vonage
keeps telling to wait 24 hours before they activate it. I have waited 24 hours for the past 6 days.

I received 2 emails. One saying that it was about to happen and another saying that it was completed. The both arrived on the same day.

Well, called one and got his voicemail. Left him a message with hopefully everything he'd need to help me out. If I don't hear back in a couple of days, I'll try the other manager. If that doesn't work, I'm just going to have to regretfully find a different
Voip
provider or just stick with Bellsouth. I'm not going through the hassle of telling everyone I've given my number to in the past 10 years that I have a new number when I shouldn't have to.

Post subject: 4 months and 4 days without phone -then success!
I started in April with the old LOA and then in May with the eLOA. After three emails from
Vonage
saying my LNP process was being terminated and three subsequent appologies AND my local phone service being terminated four days ago, my number finally was ported today.
I have come to find out that, despite their organizational chaos,
Vonage
managed to do some big things.
Vonage
was able to port my number. While
Vonage
, and many others' web sites said they could, this is not the case. One site said they could port my number, but when talking with their sales people, it turned out that they could give me a local number, but could not port my old one.
Second, while my local phone carrier terminated my service, they did not know how to transfer service to
Vonage
. I emailed Qwest and they replied with the statement "I apologize for the confusion and delay in responding to your e-mail". It is likely that Qwest was part of the problem in the whole process. It appears that Qwest has gone so long without competition, that they do not know what to do when they lose business. Therefore, kudos to
Vonage
for making it happen despite Qwest's confusion.

Yet another update -- I'm not sure if it was my call to the manager or what, but it appears that the process has been set into motion. The funny thing is, I haven't received any emails or seen a change in the LNP status on my dashboard, but:
1) I used to forward calls from my Bellsouth # to my
Vonage
virtual number. Whenever I got a call, the one phone I still had hooked into the wall phone jack would ring once before the call was forwarded to my
Vonage
phone. That doesn't happen anymore, the call seems to go right through
Vonage
. The
Vonage
dashboard doesn't show the "F" it used to show next to forwarded calls.
2) I get this when I try to log into my Bellsouth account: "Telephone number <xxx.xxx.xxxx> can no longer be managed online."
So I'm guessing the port is complete. Just odd that I've gotten no indication from
Vonage
:-/ But if it's true, then awesome -- been waiting for this for over 6 months now -- no more $50 Bellsouth bills!

I did not receive notification via email or phone either. Instead, my phone range once at the time of the transfer and that's it. The combination of broadband and
Vonage
is the same price or even cheaper than just Qwest phone service alone!
