Well, I finally got sick of waiting for my LNP (started Jan.3rd, finally cancelled last week), and all the excuses from
Vonage
(mainly saying it was Bellsouth's fault, while Bellsouth consistently swore up and down that they were out of the loop at this point as they had immediately processed the request and sent the proper information back a few days after my LNP request began in January). I called and got the electronic process rolling on June 10th. Hopefully we'll see some results soon.

My update:
It's been over a month, and no news from the eLOA process. A rep did try to help and investigate the problem, which was appreciated, but unfortunately it was the same reply from
Vonage
as the 6 month process I cancelled before, that it's held up at the carrier. I just called, and got the typical vague response that a ticket would be issued and it would be investigated, and to call back in 2 weeks (man, if I had a nickel for every time I heard that reply when I called, I'd have about ... 50 cents).
Soooo yeah. This is frustrating. My whole purpose was to get
Vonage
and avoid paying Bellsouth $50 a month, and it's 7 months later and I'm still paying Bellsouth $50 a month just to forward my calls to my
Vonage
number, and I'm afraid to bump my Bellsouth service down to the bare minimum because I'm afraid ANY change to my Bellsouth service would give
Vonage
another excuse for delays.
Hate to sound like a whiner here, but it's just getting old.

so for those of you who went thru the eLOA,
once the request has been approved and completed, what happens next? is your phone line shut down the day the process is completed? or does it take longer to shut down.
my eLOA was sent on july 5 and i have isloated my wiring even though my POTS is still active. didnt make send to use it when i have
Vonage

Maybe not. But you're still paying for your POTS service and, more importantly, they still have your old number. Did you notify everyone to call you on the new, temp number? You'll also have to tell them to switch back to the old number once it is ported.
It has been 13 business days and waiting for me. I know that
Vonage
said at least 20 days, but a business trip came up and I will be out of town the last week in July. My wife doesn't want to be bothered changing the wiring once the number is ported (that's my job
), so I'll start bugging them next week and try to get it done before I leave.

yes im still paying for POTS and yes evryone has been notified to call the virtual and yes everryone knows we will send out an email once the number (ever) gets ported.
FYI we used our cellphones for LD calling anyways and only had the POTS line for fax use. so it is a basic unlimited line with no features on it so im not worried about it still being active.
with
Vonage
i can make LD calls from the home phones with no worries about LD charges and that makes more sense to me. i have every feature on the
Vonage
line that i didnt have on my POTS so it makes more sense to use
Vonage
doesnt it?

I still don't have incoming calls on the ported number. Callers get dead air.
