My phone is a 5.8Ghz. Even if I had a 2.4GHz phone it shouldn't cause the router to reboot. I'm not losing a wireless connection, the router reboots completely as if someone pushed the reset button.

With mine I notice that if my wireless, wired and phone are all dropped, I can go to the set up with my wired pc, turn off wireless, and everything else comes back on. Seems like interference, but I have changed channels, moved the router, everything else I can think of. I just have to wait a while and it just comes back on. It seems like when it happens the router feels hotter than normal.

Hi,

I've had horrible experiences with the WRTGP2, dropped connections (phone and internet) when the internet is there it is slow (like 56K slow). I complained to Vonage and Linksys, sometime last week Vonage upgraded my firmware to 1.28. Also Linksys suggested I set the MTU to 1450.

Life is now good. No problems so far.

In my live chat with Linksys tech support they also seemed to suggest that the reliability of this router depends on who your service provider is.

Hope that helps.

Enjoy

I'm on my third one. I don't know if the first two were duds or its the firmware (I think I am in 1.28 as well) but things seem to be working fine now. I have a media center PC in the other room and just watched a three hour show being streemed from it with no interuptions. Hopefully I'm in the clear. In the past though things worked fine for a while then got progressively worse and worse. I've had the new unit for about a week and haven't seen any reboots so far and I don't think I can say that for the other two.

I can see the 2.4G phones resulting in 802.11a/b/g connections dropping, but it should not result in the WRT rebooting.
