What pitfalls will I have with replacing a rt31p2 with a pap2? |

depends on your network setup and usage. offhand I would say paying for another device but if that's what you need then that's what you need. |

The rt31p2 has been dead for 4 weeks. Support has yet to respond. Thus I'm looking at a pap2 as the replacement. |

THe 31P2 is a router. If you are running (or were running) your home network off of it, you'll need a new router like a Linksys, Dlink, or Netgear device. The PAP2 is just a phone adapter and won't route internet traffic for you. |
