Vonage UK fax problem. Help me choose a new fax machine.

I have been with Vonage for about a week. And i have a problem with sending faxes, about 9 in 10 fail. I have a brother fax-930, and i managed to get hold of a engineers manual for it so i could lower the baud rate and switch off ECM. however this didn't make any difference.

I was on the phone to Vonage for about an hour trying different settings, this didn't work either.

I am now thinking of buying a new fax machine, and i dont know which will be most compatible with Vonage. Has any Vonage customer in the UK got a fax that works? If you have, please post the details here to help me choose my next machine.

I have just been to a BBQ and met someone who runs an office supplies company. He also has Vonage, I told him my problem and he said that he has tried over 50 different fax machines, and not one of them worked properly. So I have plugged my fax into my old line. I'll just have to use Vonage for voice calls only.

are you using the main phone line for the fax machine or have you set up a second line as a fax line?
it does make a difference having the line set up for voice or fax

I tried both, I had a voice line and dialled *99 before each fax call, and then i tried a fax line and got Vonage to refund and cancel it as this didn't work either.

I've given up with fax over Vonage now. It's not worth the hassle.
