Post subject: Losing dial tone, have to restart router to get it back
I am with
Vonage
for 2 weeks now and ok with the service besides one BIG problem. For some reason, whenever my cable I-net connection gets interrupted dial tone is lost and NOT regained when Broadband connection gets back up in 1-2 seconds (i.e. computer connected to same router works in 1-2 sec and phone doesn't until I restart router).
The interruption happens 1-2 time in 24 hours. I am still working on the source of Interruption - my guess it could be either cable modem or Comcast service in the area.
How can I get the phone work uninterrupted? Can I reconfigure the router to regain the phone connection when i-net connection is regained? Any suggestions are very much apriciated...because I am already thinking of disconnecting the service...

If your account is DHCP, then you will have to restart your router. The router is awaiting a sign-on. This is the answer I got when I had a similar problem with my Earthlink account would stop various time.
Just a thought.
