If your number transfer is bogged down for 6+ weeks with no relief in site
CANCEL IT
!
Then restart it using the new eLOA (electronic LOA) method. Ports that have been hanging for 3,4,5 months are completing in as little as 7DAYS after they cancel and restart using the new eLOA system! Average time 2-3 weeks. This of course assumes you enter the proper information on the eLOA form and that there are no issues on your end (pick freezes, DSL, distinctive ring, open orders, incorrect names, omitted other numbers on the line etc etc).

excellent idea. If my thrid scheduled date of 5/31 falls through I will definitely go this route. I'm approaching 90 days of waiting and the only time
Vonage
sends me updates is when I write them nasty letters.

Well, how do you cancel, and where is the eLOA form? I don't see options for either when I log in to my account.

How do you cancel.
I just went on-line to the account center, no such function.

Here's how you cancel it:
866-496-6359
Listen for the prompt (I think it's option 3 or 4, can't remember, on the phone now)

Do this at your own risk though, I'm going on four months now awaiting my number transfer from Verizon. I just got off the phone again with Customer (Lack Of) Care and asked into the validity of this claim of cancelling and reinitiating via the eLOA. She said it wouldn't put it through any quicker.
I hate the LNP department. I fart in their general direction.

You're lucky...
March 4, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
March 10, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
March 10, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
I'm porting from Frontier Communications in MN. After many emails
and calls the number being ported started returning a busy signal
yesterday. They claim to be working on it. But now I have no inbound
service through that number, and of course nobody knows the
temporary number
Vonage
assigned. I'm very unhappy at the
moment.

I see you January and raise you a December
December 2, 2004 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
December 9, 2004 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
December 9, 2004 Transfer Sent to Carrier
But part of this is my fault. I had ISDN. Not that the line is on POTS, I suspect it will happen any day now
