If you set it up to be the default trunk or only have 1 trunk then it will dial out without the 9. I use a Sipura 2000 and use my analog phones around the house. |

Thank you for all you help Tommy. I going to try to get all configure tonight. Trying to just use ip phones because my house is wired for ethernet so trying to take advantage of that. Cisco ip phones look cool but they add up in price if I want to get 3 or 4 ip phones. |

I like the Cisco phones as well but take a look at the Grandstream phones, the sound quality is good and the cost for them are around $60 - $80. |

I might just end up using a spare cisco ata 186 I have around the house and just use my existing analog phones and make all the phone jacks in the house live. |

I have a quick question regarding the asterisk software. Can use this software to give my friends and family IP softphone extensions in their houses, and give them the ability to dial out to the PSTN through my Vonage account? So I think it would go like this;
SP - Softphone ----> NAT through Cable/DSL Router ----> Internet -----> Nat Through Cable/DSL Router -----> Asterisk ---->FXO---->Vonage PAP2----->Nat through Cable/DSL Router ------> Vonage PSTN Service
This would give my family and friends the ability to freely call each other and make outside calls from my local number free to anywhere in NA. Correct? or am I out to lunch?

You mean only one call per outgoing line can be made, if my Vonage account has two lines, I could get Asterix to use one of the two outgoing lines for the outside call, depending on which one is free? |
