My RT31P2 failed on May 2nd. Without a phone I contacted Vonage 3 times that week via e:mail. No answers. Last week I used a land line of a friend and after 35 minutes of working up the support ladder, the line disconnected. The unit is in constant bootup mode, power light fast blinking green, even after 2 or 3 days. The reset button does nothing. Turning off the unit for even a day or 2 does nothing How do I replace the unit? Or reset it? |

This is probably a lost cause, but you may as well try this reset procedure:
1. Unplug the RT31P2. 2. Hold down the reset button. 3. Plug it back in 4. After 30 seconds, release the reset button
Then let it sit for a few minutes, and see if it does anything. |

Thank you for the suggestion, but same results.
Even held the reset for 60 seconds and waited 15 minutes |

typically indicative of a failed firmware upgrade. like paul248 said, it's dead. |

Back to original question, how do I replace the unit without being able to call Customer Care and that they have not answered e:mails? |

jdr30 or any other Vonage reps, please send a new rt to zirke60.
zirke60, jdr30 is a Vonage rep. you might consider a pm (private message) to him. |

I had a similar experience
I had a replacement RT, and it seemed as if the new RT was DOA
The problem was the cable modem, and the techies at Vonage (the ones whom I spoke to), could not get past trouble shooting the Lynksys router.
Despite my telling them the problem, they ALL insisted that I do repeated attempts of ipconfig *** hoping something different would happen.
Follow this thread, and see what Mundy5 told me to do. http://www.vonage-forum.com/sutra33080.html#33080
If your cable modem fails to "see" the RT, you ain't gonna get nothing.
Adapt the instructions for your situation.
This should be a FAQ. Mod said that he is setting one up
Mundy5:
I am surprized that you did not refer to your FABULOUS solution to my situation. Thanks again, and I frequently cross link it for others to adapt. |
