I've had Vonage for about 6 months now, using the PAP2 and now the latest firmware update. I have QoS setup through my Linksys WRT54G router, and I'm on 1.5/256k Verizon DSL. All of my tests @ testyourvoip.com show 4.0-4.3 range and low latency; however...

Whenever I'm talking with customers, it is very noticeable that there is a delay. I end up talking over people and having awkward pauses as we each reset our perception of what the other person is saying. If I am on a conference call (through a 3rd party audio bridge, not 3 way calling on the phone), it is intolerable. I can never get a word in because of the delay.

Also, sometimes people report that I am very quiet. I have had Vonage up the gain, but this now causes some really bad echoes with cell phone callers.

Is there anything else I can do to resolve these problems? If not, I'm afraid I'm going to have to drop the Vonage and go back to POTs communications for work, at a much higher cost. Saving money is great, but not if I can effectively communicate with my customers.

I have the same issues, as I have one Vonage line for home and one for work. I could not see using POTS at $50 a month when I could have two lines doing for the same price.

I have trouble with people saying there is alot of noise in the backround, and a delay when they pick up the phone. I nver set up conference calls/interviews on my Vonage line in case it drops. I think for my work line I will have to go to a Verizon line and pay $50 for that...booo

The issue: on three way calls, interruptions on line, voices drop every second or two.

The issue (2): I described the detailed issue w Vonage both through technical assistance and through general problem reports. NO RESPONSE from either. I suspect Vonage's claim of 3 way calling is overblown.

Anybody else have this issue?
