This feature is the only reason that I have not yet signed up for Vonage. Several calls and emails to them have basically been rejected. The only response has been "We don't currently offer that feature. We may add it in the future."

I'll be waiting...

I know what you mean, I may be switching to another service because they offer "Annonymous call rejection" after my contract is up. It's a really helpfull feature.

I have Vonage but I am in the middle of switching to Packet8.
I liked Vonage but I no longer believe them when they say ACR is
coming. I have been hearing it from them for a long time.
I do not trust anything I hear from them anymore.

You know, to be honest, it probably is coming. But I can't blame you, Vonage does drag their feet at EVERYTHING they do. You can't really trust anything they say.

Before Vonage can offer ACR they first have to learn how to distinguish between "Blocked" (or "Anonymous" or "Private") calls and "Unavailable" (or "Out Of Area") calls. Currently calls from blocked numbers show up as "Out Of Area" or "Unavailable" depending on your CID display. If they were to offer ACR this way, then an active ACR would block out most incoming international calls and others where the caller's service does not transmit any CID info. ACR is only intended for truly "Blocked" calls, which (for every other provider except Vonage) is quite different from an "Out Of Area" call.

I don't care if they are "Unavailable," "Blocked," "Anonymous," "Private," "Out-of-Area," or ANYTHING ELSE! I don't like getting ANY call without AT LEAST a number.
If they are unable to get through, they can call from another phone--Plain and Simple.

Thats the one that kills me and is fine ...call comes in..."unknown"...

so to me that says dont answer and let it go to voice mail....

Usually bill collector or telemarketer, they also pose as "blocked call"

anyone I know that uses blocked call, knows they will get vm first thats a given

Also I use simluring to my cell and it will say "Id unavailable" again send it to vm

I dont see any big deal in checking vc after call comes in.... if its that important than just answer the %^#$@$ phone

Until one of these annoying calls comes through in the middle of the night... get up, check caller id, wait until the VM answers and caller responds, check VM, etc...
What a hassle! Block 'em ALL!

Block your number and dial MY number and see what happens! LOL!
