I have repeatedly tried checking my cellphone voicemail using Softphone and only once got through. When I hit * during the options menu for my voicemail their computer does not recognize it. Any suggestions?

Make sure that the Softphone is not on mute. Mute not only blocks the voice input from the microphone but any sound output from the Softphone, including MFT signaling.

I will keep this in mind the next time I try but I'm sure it's not on mute as I am able to make voice calls and can sometimes get to my voice mail menu by repeatedly hitting the * key. If my four digit code were all the same numbers I would be able to repeatedly hit that but alas it is not. I'm working in Korea right now and cannot access my voicemail line without going through the hotel's landline ($$$). I'm guessing Vonage needs to change something in their hardware/software to lengthen the touch tone duration. I remember back in the old days sending a command string to my Hayes modem to shorten the tone duration for faster dialing.

Any resolution on this?
I feel for you. Being abroad is no time for extra connectivity issues.
I too noticed problems with my Vonage Softphone's touchtones not being recognized by ouside menu systems. Only my problem is intermittent... even when calling the same exact number just a minute later with the same exact set up. I move around and use a lot of different internet connections (all fast wireless so far with at least 3 out of 4 bars reception) and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.
For example, when I telephone and try to leave a message on someone else's non-voip cell phone voicemail, and it asks "if you're satisfied with your message, please press 3", etc, it doesn't hear me even when I repeatedly press the appropriate number. Then when I call again with the same exact set up, it hears me fine.
This seems to be an issue when punching the numbers on both my laptop keyboard as well as the softphone's faux buttons.
I'm using a Mac PowerBook G4 that's less than 2 years old, OSX, and the latest vonage softphone.
I've noticed related discussions regarding the Vonage landline adapter, but not the softphone. Any solutions anyone?
