My credit card terminal is not working. Should I change it to a newer model, or any other suggestion please....
My faxmachine is working, and also I was able to link my linksys together with my D-Link wireless router.
I tried to use 2 modular phone cable for my cc terminal, but nothing has changed. Please help..... |

I have used 2 types of terminals with success on Vonage. Nurit 2085 works most of the time as long a I do not have too many transactions when it comes time to batch(under 50). I also have gotten the En-Counter 4000 terminal to work with no problems. I do have the Vonage small biz service with the free fax line. But I use the credit card terminals on my normal Vonage line. You may want to see if you can get your terminal to dial *99 before it dials the number to your card proscessor. That would put your Vonage service in "fax" mode for that phone call. I hope this info helps. |

I have a Trans 330 that I had hooked up to my Vonage phone line. The Trans kept losing comm with host.
When I switched back to my verizon line it worked just fine. |

Unless you are running a restaurant or business that involves dozens and dozens of credit card swipes a day, you might want to consider one of the on-line credit card merchant account providers.
I use: https://epaysecure.transfirst.com/
epaysecure charges me a $25 per month fee (beats the hundreds some places charge for swipe machines, software, and "statement fees") plus the normal percentage of each transaction. Data is entered through their secure on-line website. Works great! Great for occasional users like myself.
For fax service, I use maxemail (www.maxemail.com) for $14.89 per YEAR. They convert the faxes to pdf files and e-mail them to you.
VONAGE IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. For many small businesses, a Vonage line can make a good second line for your phone system. Keeping one POTS line can be handy for faxes and credit card swipes.
But as your ONLY phone line(s), it might be problematic, unless you can adapt.
Vonage also offeres a Fax line service, but it is extra cost.
Good Luck. |
