Searched but did not find the answer I was looking for.
How is billing handled when you transfer a call?
Example: I call my mother at home. She wants to speak to my wife. I transfer the call to my wife's cell phone (Long Distance for my mother).
Who gets the long distance bill?
Does it get applied to my unlimited Vonage minutes, or does my mother get charged the long distance on her POTS line?
What happens when a call is RECIEVED and then transferred? Does the incoming call simply pay LD POTS billing to my number, or do they pay LD to my number plus the distance to the transferred destination number?
I hope that makes sense and that someone knows the answer...
Thanks! |

Vonage Call Transfer User's Guide wrote: | There is no additional cost to transfer a call with your Vonage phone service. It is included in your monthly Vonage calling plan. This means that all calls under the unlimited plan will be free, and for our rated plan customers, calls will count towards your included monthly minutes. |
They, the calling party, pay for the call to your number. If you are on a metered plan, the minutes are counted against your plan. |

I can't believe the documentation is wrong. Therefore you must have a vivid imagination.
In theory if you were to transfer an outgoing call you would be racking up minutes at double the rate (on a metered plan). The dashboard should tell you. Neither called party should be billed. |

Dude, I'm not crazy and I'm not lying...if that's what you're implying. I just tried it again before I posted this.
I pick up my Vonage line, dial my cell phone. Answer my cell phone. Check to make sure call is connected by listening to both handsets in my ear and speaking. I hit FLASH, #90, dial my wife's cell number, then hangup my Vonage line. My wife's cell number rings with my cell caller ID. I answer and talk between the two phones.
Yes, double billing does show up in my dashboard for my unlimited plan....but then again, why would it matter to me that I'm being double billed on an unlimited plan?
I can't imagine being that insane as to imagine all of that happening. |

So, if that works, then you could go to [arbitrary location A], start click2call, have your home phone call you, say "Hi Mom, forward me to [arbitrary location B]," and you've got a rather involved way of making unlimited point-to-point calls...
Then of course, you could replace "Hi Mom" with a script that picks up your modem and plays some tones. In that case, you don't really need click2call either. |

Airshark, Scerutti is kidding with you, didn't you see the winking smiley?
BTW, I tried it with my cell and my wife's cell, just like you. Rather cool. Nothing I need right now, but still interesting. |

Sorry about that....I guess sometimes sarcasm doesn't always come across in text.
My apologies for being snappy, Scerutti. |
