This is probably a repeat, but I don't readily find an earlier version of this question.
Where can I buy ringer switches? Radio Shack and other stores used to sell them Maybe they still do, but I haven't found any. We have 11 landline extensions, almost all two-line cordless models, for two numbers. We'd like to be able to kill all ringers by remote control.
All our entertainment gear, LAN Gigabyte swich, phone bridges, and security equipment are in a single large closet. We control everything, even one computer, with nine infrared remotes and enjoy audio and video everywhere. There are IR receivers in every room, so it should be a cinch to set up two ringer switches where the POT service enters the system and control them by IR.
If no such switches are available, we also have a lot of X-10 units around the house. We could use ringer switches controlled by turning the AC on and off--if there are any gadgets that work that way. We prefer straight IR, but we could use IR to trigger X-10 or something.
Please recommend a way to disable all ringers from any room.
Thanks. |
