I've found quite a few postings dealing with noise and static
on Vonage phones, and some talk about it with cordless
phones. When I use a corded phone Vonage works great.
When I use any of my cordless phones I get a lot of static and
even dropped calls. I've tried to hook-up a 2nd phone
into jack #2 and leave it off the hook - but that doesn't help.
jdr30 mentioned that a new linksys adapter was coming out
in May that should fix this but when I called Vonage they knew
nothing about it. And they switched me from line 1 to line
2 hoping that might help but it doesn't. They said to try it
for a couple of days but if it doesn't work now I doubt it'll work
better tomorrow Smile So, does anyone have any other
suggestions or should I just ask them to send me a new linksys
and hope that that one works better? Is there really a new
linksys?

Get a 5.8MHZ phone. That's what I have and it works just as well now as it did b4 Vonage.

I've tried 900mhz and a 2.4ghz with the same results. I have 3
2.4ghz and I'd really like to avoid having to get rid of all 3. The phones work great w/o Vonage so it really seems like its an adapter issue and not a phone issue.

The problem with the 2.4 is that most routers including the RT work on a 2.4MHZ frequency which could be the cause of your problems because they my interfere with one another.

I've been using a Uniden 2.4MHz cordless phone system with my Vonage account for two months now with no problems. I've even got the phone base next to my WAP and there have been no issues.

I just signed up (a week or so ago) and they sent me a linksys router (RT31P2) which coicidently has a better feature set than my other linksys router -- pretty happy about this hehe.

I'm using cordless phones with mine and so far it tested out fine. I'm still waiting on my number with qwest to get switched over, other than that Vonage seems to be awesome. Half the price and alot more free features.

I'm using a Uniden 5.8Ghz Digital cordless phone which the base sits next to (almost touching) my D-Link DI-524 802.11b/g router, my PC is connected to the network via a DWL-G122 USB wireless adapter, and I have no sound or connectivity issues whatsoever with this setup.

I have been with Vonage since January. My network consists of Motorola modem from Comcast and a WRT-54GP2 Wireless Router along with a WAP-54G Range Extender. We are also using 4 of the ATT model 8500 cordless phones working at 5.8G. While from time to time we do see network hiccups, we have never experienced any phone interference problems. I believe that 5.8G is the likely reason why things are working well here. Good Luck

I was wonderin', have you tried 1 cordless phone without having any of the others interfering?

Also, don't think this has much to do with it but....I read somewhere about using the DSL line filters in reverse. Not sure what that was about and if that would do a damn thing but....

Also, do you connect directly to the router or do you use your home's phone jacks? Maybe try the cordless at the router (without the other cordless' interfering) and then try the cordless at a jack. See if either position makes any difference with one cordless phone.

Just a couple of things you might try if you haven't already.

We use Motorola 2.4Ghz and it sounds better than our regular phone line. Our Vonage is connected with Direcway's 7700, and Linksys wireless and Vonage router. There is less latency on that than with a regular cell phone.
