I activated my Vonage service from a retail purchase back in January. The Linksys PAP2 device I purchased offered a $50 mail-in-rebate from Staples. I have been waiting for several months... I have made several calls; yet, the rebate status is sitting in a final holding review.

I feel that Vonage needs to step and start paying their rebates they offer to their customers. I pay my monthly bill on time, I would expect my rebate be paid on time as offered.

Is there anyone on this forum who can help get my rebate paid? I have a complete copy of the rebate scanned into a PDF, and stables has receipt of my mailing. There is nothing in-valid and a call to staples confirms this. I am being told the hold up is with Vonage not the rebate center.

The rebate offer states a check will arrive in 5-8 weeks yet it has been several months. What gives?

Rebate Reward: $50.00 Rebate Check
Rebate Information For: XXXXXXXX
Promotion: $50 Rebate on Select Vonage Internet Phone Service Starter Kits (SKUs 577468, 577467 or 585307) at Staples
Submission Type: MAIL-IN
Status Date: 02-25-2005
Status Detail: Your rebate has been entered and is scheduled for final processing.

I belive your rebate will be sent 5-8+ weeks after you have been a Vonage customer for 90 days. I think I would start counting the weeks after your 3 month time frame.

I signed up on Jan 22, 2005. To this day, its been 111 days.
I have checked the Vonage rebate status and it stated "Required Service Period"

Well, its been 3 weeks so far, so I guess I have another 2-5 weeks to wait...if the status ever changes.

I got the PAP2 from CircuitCity with a $10 rebate from CC and a $50 rebate from Vonage. The Vonage rebate clearly stated it would be paid 8-12 weeks after completion of 90 days of service.

I got the $10 rebate from CC quickly (it was not contingent on the service period). I got the Vonage rebate about 1 month after completion of my 90 service period. No complaints from and I vote yes to the poll.

Please allow 4-6 weeks after claim has been received by the fulfilment company to receive your rebate...

This is what the offer was from Staples. I would send a image of it by it won't let me paste it in this forum.

It's printed right on the receipt. Is there away I can post a jpg of the text?

I am ok with waiting... I just hate be lied to. Vonage should pay their rebates.

I activated service back in January also. Sent 2 emails about the status of my rebate and was obviously misinformed and not advised of any problems. In fact, the last response I got led me to believe that my rebate was progressing, and that the status had not be updated to reflect that. That was on July 5 when Eric on the Advanced Service Team (BestBuy@vonage.com) said, and I quote, "In response to your email, the status on the rebate just has not been updated as of yet."

To date, I have not received the rebate, and called them to find out why my rebate status was show "Required Service Period".The required 90 days of service has gone by, and the 12 week allowance for the rebate to be sent has gone be as well. Does Vonage need to be sued to step up performance of the issuance of rebates? Like John said... I pay them on time, why can't they pay me on time. If I don't get a satisfactory answer, I'll be looking for a good attorney, and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and filing a complaint with the local District Attorney's Office. I'm not going to forget and I'm not going away. I want my rebate!

I can guarantee that it will cost more than $50 to hire an attorney..
Be a bit careful on some of these rebates, becuase some ie Bestbuy have had longer dates by a week than what was being offered by Vonage. In that case the rebate would be comming from Bestbuy etc.
Also, Vonage is not the fullfillment company of the rebates. Do a search on the forums and you will see that numerous times.

For people interested in joining Vonage, you might want to place a phone call to Vonage to sign up.

Normally, I would have preferred to order online or go to the store since I don't like talking to people for this kind of stuff, I fear they will screw everything up. In this case, They offered the RT31P2 for only $9 or something like that and I didn't have to deal with any rebates.

I faxed a complaint letter to the Executive Office of Vonage and got my rebate about 2 weeks later. Customer service waas of no help and blaming a fulfillment subcontractor is not acceptable.
